What: Annual Spa City 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament
When: April 14, 2012
Where: Hot Springs AR
WHY: In an effort to be Spreading JOY across America and encourage some wonderful kids and future leaders of our world, we are partnering with a student from Champion Baptist Collegeand helping to Sponsor this 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament.Many kids dream of playing in a tournament and we are giving the kids of this community a chance to do it and experience great JOY in the process.
Info:
There is no charge to the children for entering this tournament. Many of these kids dream of playing in such an event but can’t afford the registration fees that are usually required.
Each team will play to 11 points and the winning team will continue on until two teams are left. The losing team will move to another bracket and play once more in an effort to work their way up to the winners in this bracket. Each team will be able to play at a minimum of two times.
There will also be a Half Court Contest that everyone will be entered into a drawing for. 4-6 individuals will have the chance at a single throw from half court.
This will be a time of encouraging a community of kids to lead the way boldly, hold their head up high, to do their very best and be proud of their accomplishments.
We’d like to give each of the winners a chance to purchase new shoes from Footlocker. Please keep in mind that these children could never afford such a luxury so we would like to provide the gift cards for this. The top team will each receive a gift card of $150.00. Ultimately we’d like to give the top 2 teams the grand prize, but we are depending on you to step in, step up and lead the way.
Here are ways that you can help in this event: Regardless of what comes in or not, we will do what we can with what we have.
We need:
3 – $150.00 Footlocker gift cards <- 3 have been sponsored. The winning team WILL get a brand new pair of shoes from YOU. Thank YOU
3 – $50 gift cards for 2nd place. <- this has come in! thank YOU! Team two has been taken care of!
10 – $50 gift cards to local area Restaurants (for the 2nd bracket tournament winners & half court contest winners) Outback, Olive Garden, Ruby Tuesdays, On the Border
Air Fare out there <- I will make donation to cover, unless someone wants to sponsor me. Looking at $300 here. I’ve done this! ready to fly & spread some joy to these kids!
Hotel Stay & Meals <- trusting for a cancellation in a hotel that will donate the weekend. Still praying over this. Any help here will be awesome.
We would like to give each participant the following: I’m dreaming of doing some big things for these kids! Problem is we are not sure of exactly how many children, so we will be keeping an open heart for this!
Lunch – hamburger/hotdog or chicken sandwich, chips & drink Provided by Gospel Light Baptist & Champion Baptist College
Brand New Basketball – - funds for 50 donated so far! please help w/this!
